Library cards

Ohio Residents may apply for a library card at no cost.  Out of state residents may apply for a library card for a $25.00 fee.

To obtain a library card, adult applicants must present a photo ID with their current, local address.  If the photo ID does not have the current, local address, a second document showing name and address is permitted.

When registering for a new card, the patron's ID will be checked in the system to see if a User ID exists with Napoleon Public Library.  Patrons already existing as Napoleon patrons will not be issued a new account, but may receive a new library card.

Please have your library card or picture ID with you to check out materials.

Patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign for permission to obtain a library card of their own.

You are the only person authorized to use your library card.  Children may use the card of a parent/legal guardian, if present or with prior permission.

You are responsible for any items checked out on your card.  Report a lost or stolen card to the library as soon as possible at 419-592-2531.

A lost or stolen card costs $1.00 to replace the first time, graduating to a $5.00 cap.  All Ohio children, regardless of age, may obtain a library card.

Children under the age of 18 may obtain a Three For Me (3FM) card. The child does not need parental/guardian consent to get a card. Only three items may be checked out on the card at one time. Overdue fines are not accrued, but the child will be charged for lost or missing items that are not returned.
