Library Partnerships That Strengthen Our Community
The Napoleon Public Library, Florida Public Library, and McClure Community Library are focused on building strong community ties in our Henry County area. We are pleased to be offering programs or have previously worked with these organizations to bring our community together:
- School Visits (Napoleon City Schools, St. Paul Lutheran School, St. John Lutheran School, St. Augustine Catholic School, St. Peter Lutheran Preschool, Head Start)
- Classroom visits are a regular part of our children's department! Students can sign up for Three For Me library cards, teachers can schedule a classroom story time, have a tour of the library, or however we can assist your classroom.
- Teachers are also eligible for a Teachers' Library Card. This allows for extended length of borrowing time, checking out up to 100 books at a time, borrow multiple books of the same title for class readings or book clubs, or give the librarian your classroom themes with a personalized selection for you to browse through for quicker trips.
- Homeschool Parents - This includes you too! Start a book club for your co-op, check out a range of non-fiction books for topic exploration, or schedule a library visit with your co-op group.
- Henry County Historical Society
- The organization's goal is to collect, preserve, exhibit, and educate about Henry County's past, focusing on promoting local heritage and generating public interest in the county's history.
- The library has welcomed working with this organization with our America250 Celebration, historical program presentations, and resources.
- Elijah Gunn Sr. Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter in Napoleon, Ohio
- The D.A.R. is dedicated to honoring Revolutionary War heritage, supporting veterans, and promoting patriotism through community service and remembrance events.
- Our local D.A.R. group has helped the library with Bells Across America celebrating Constitution Day, worked with our children's programming, and helped patrons navigate genealogy and military records with Fold3 website.
- Genacross Lutheran Services - Napoleon Campus
- Our adult department is traveling to this local nursing and assisted living home to help residents sign up for library cards, bringing books to check out, and exchanged returned books. This is a new program that we are excited to grow!

- Soaring Arts frequently has art displays at libraries, through different artforms and different featured artists. Soaring Arts was a part of our America250 Celebration, has led children's art programming, and more! The Florida Public Library also hosts a monthly book club with Soaring Arts members.
